What a magical place! lovely fishing and kayaking down to the river, has wildlife, great spot in a lovely lodge. Thank you!
Being on the water with the row boat, kayaks and the gorgeous location made this a wonderful holiday. No-one else on the water really so we had the lake to ourselves as long as we avoided the fishing folks. Wildlife are all around, geese, deer, boxing hares, kingfishers, fish in the lake, and even an otter. Apart from the wildlife noises, which I loved, a very peaceful location.
The lodge is well equipped, good little kitchen with everything you need to cook, everything in good order and not too pristine, but perfectly lovely, so didn't have to worry having a dog and teenagers - the pictures represent it well.
Lovely pub in the nearby village, The Merry Monk, is well worth a visit for the Sunday lunch and has a good little Co-op which is a very pretty half hour walk.
Nice break, fishing was excellent with 22 Pike caught. Largest 21lb! Other specimen fish rudd to 3lb, Perch to 3lb, Was kept very busy at times by the fishing.
Dog enjoy it's lazy break as well, most likely return same time next year, to enjoy the fishing and watching nature. Thank you.
We had a lovely, relaxing break at River Lark Lodge. It was a really peaceful location, but in easy reach of the village and nearby Ely for day trips. The hosts were really helpful and the lodge had everything we needed.
What a wonderful find, a hidden gem in the most tranquil and peaceful areas, surrounded by nature and peace and quiet.. couldn't have asked for better.

Superb place. Couldn't have been happier with the location. It's in the best part of the marina with a wide lake on one side and a river view on the other, with balconies in both directions. The lodge was well equipped with everything we needed. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Good wifi and O2 phone signal. The bed and sofas were comfortable and everything was perfectly clean. The lake was frozen and it was below zero every day but the lodge was comfortable and warm. We enjoyed our break so much, we have already booked a return visit later in the year.

Lovely weekend away in this beautiful place with my family. Our teenagers loved rowing on the river. We loved sitting on the decking and watch the picturesque sunset, lovely colors of the sky. Great communication from Anna and Roger too, would definitely go there again.
Isleham Marina is a beautiful and peaceful location and the chalet was a great place to relax. The hosts were very friendly and gave excellent instructions on how to find the chalet with lots of local information. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend a stay.

A short but relaxing break. Enjoyed being on the 'water' and watching the antics of the geese! If you need a good breakfast thoroughly recommend sunflower cafe at Fordam Scotdales Garden Centre.
My friend and I despite the bad weather had a wonderful stay here. Lovely place to unwind, fish and totter about. Hosts are fantastic and incredibly helpful - I will happily return.

We had a very relaxing break. Beautiful lake nice and peaceful. Loved seeing the swans, ducks and the birds especially early on in the morning whist drinking coffee on the balcony. Ely town was lovely to look around and great market town. Thank you.
Very enjoyable stay, nice lodge. Look out for Kingfishers! Fished for pike, we had a 12.5lb pike and a quite a few others.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish we had longer! Had fun with Kayaks and bikes. Bread seemed to be the best bate for the fish. Hopefully we'll be back to enjoy this great place again.
It is a great place to relax in peaceful surroundings. Only a short walk or cycle to the village. We used the kayaks on the river, took the boat out on the lake, and cycled to the pub. The lodge is very comfortable and has all the amenities you need.

A lovely place, we had a relaxing 3 day stay. caught 3 bream, sizes between 4-5lb, 1 Ell 2lb, biggest one caught, my wife's record. Also some nice Skimmer Bream, Roach, Rudd. We are refreshed now and rearing to go!!! Thank you for a relaxing time.

Perfect relaxing week, lovely balmy evenings for kayaking and fishing (large bream + tench, and lots of small ones). Cycled Lodes way from Wicken Fen, Ely Cathedral was stunning. BBQ with TFM Butchers meat was excellent, as were the fish and chips from Fordham. Everything perfect, thank you!
What a lovely place!, so relaxing just what we needed. Loads of wildlife to sit back and watch. The cute baby geese chicks would visit us daily. We would Definitely recommend a visit to the local butchers. We had some very tasty burgers & some lovely homemade cakes. Everyone we met was very friendly. We will definitely we back soon. Thanks ๐

Extreme temperature -5 ! freezing fog but we enjoyed seeing all the trees/bushes/reeds sparkling with ice.
Cold snap affected the angling however we had some quality bream biggest 7lb 4oz most 4lb. other than the fishing lodge was great everything you need and very comfortable.

Very clean lodge. Everything you need. The weather very hot, and fishing a bit slow in the marina, had plenty of fish from the river. Did not catch the pike under the staging, despite a few grabs at a plug. Many thanks

A little tip to move noisy geese along, apparently, a torch or laser pen helps to encourage them away. kept us awake!

Our 3rd visit our first time in the new lodge. Geoff had a great time fishing 4lb Eel and 2'16lb Pike and the following day a 3'18lb pike who could ask for more. I was in my element going around Ely and Bury St. Edmonds and we are now looking forward to seeing you both Xmas.

A wonderful stay in a great location. The lodge is fantastic, so well equipped and the opportunity to go out on the rive every day was great - even Hannah became an expert at kayaking we took time to explore locally and further a held everyone has been so helpful and kind. Absolutely beautiful lodge, in peaceful ideal location. Lovely and clean, everything here we needed. owners were friendly and very welcoming. we even ventured out on the rowing boat! would definitely visit and stay here again...

Tranquil and peaceful location. Just looking at the view forced me to relax. Very well supplied lodge. Well located for trips to Wicken Fen, Ely, and Anglesey Abbey.

We have enjoyed a lovely, relaxing stay here during the New year. Shizuka & Todd were very welcoming and we had everything we needed here. We had a good lunch at the Griffin pub and good chinese take-away from Bamboo Garden. we hope to return again in the future.

Shizuka & Todd are lovely and nothing is too much for them. Ideal location for visiting Newmarket & Ely. The flocks of starlings at dusk are a sight to be hold this time of year. The Griffin in the village has a warm welcome and good food. Can't wait to return in the near future.
A Lovely chilling week spent with mum, dad & Ted. Lovely walks & Jack enjoyed fishing with grandad, although they did't manage to catch any of the 3 pikes!!! Lucky with weather for time of year, will be back as have a game of "Linkee"to settle! Ideal location for visiting nearby towns. Enjoyed spending time with "Ted" (the dog) & lots of lovely walks with him. Not usually a quit, country person but have enjoyed the relaxing, peaceful location will be back. Karen

We've had a lovely week - great to be back. The fishing was challenging with the weather, but still caught many small fish with some nice perch and a tench of 2.5lb. Enjoyed following the kingfisher around the lake in the kayak! Everything really comfortable - Thank you.
We enjoyed the wonderful, peaceful location with fishing literally on the doorstep. The kayaks and bikes were a fantastic bonus. Thoroughly recommended the local butcher and enjoyed buying fresh veg from the roadside stalls. The Griffin is a very friendly place for a bite to eat. A very successful holiday!

We arrived by boat having travelled from the Lazy Otter near Stretham around a 3.5 hour trip. The lodge has been a perfect place to rest up and relax with friends. On our 2nd day we travelled up river through the lock to Judes ferry bridge where we took refreshments in the pub. A big thank you to Shizuka for being so kind & welcoming.
Wonderful time celebrating my 50th. Location, weather and company just perfect. The 5 baby signets hatching a real bonus. Born on my birthday 10th May.
A beautifully appointed, superior very comfortable and homely lodge, thoughtfully equipped with almost everything we would need at home. We can finally leave so many things at home that we only need, very occasionally on holiday, because it's already here!
Todd & Shizuka have provided excellent accommodation with very good quality furnishings. They are wonderful hosts, very considerate & understanding, and nothing is Too much trouble.
The fishing has been amazing in this peaceful location, we can't wait to return. Such a shame it's taken us so long to find our English Holiday Heaven!
p.s. A steak dinner at "The Griffin" in the village should not be missed!

Had a great weak with fantastic weather. Fishing great everyday, managed to catch 5 x 2lb rudd. Bird watching spectacular and kayaks & boat great fun. Would recommend "Walnut Tree"(fantastic) and Golden Boar (Sunday Lunch) on road to Mildenhall. Hope to return next summer. Thanks a lot.
p.s. local butchers definitely recommended- especially stake.

Our first stay in River Lark Lodge and what an amazing time we have had.
Weather for time of year was not too bad. Enjoyed fishing, kayaking and walking. amongst our catch was various sizes of Zander & Pike, biggest Zander 9 lb, Pike 13.5 lb, wildlife and views out of this world. The lodge itself is beautiful and cosy and pleasure to stay in, we will definitely re coming back soon, Thank you so much Todd & Shzuka, its been perfect :) xxxx

We've had a wonderful week, with some great weather. Everything we could have wished for was already here - Thank you! Fishing the lake is full of fish- mainly small, but we did catch some nice rudd and 3lb 9oz tench. Plus large perch from the river behind. kayaking was great! Daily sightings of the kingfishers!

We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay. This holiday was just what we needed. Jack caught a 10 lb pike and for the first time a Zander.
We visited Ely, Cambridge and visited London leaving Jack fishing for the day. thanks shizuka and Todd.

A beautiful house- photo's don't do it justice. A lovely bedroom with a really comfortable bed. Luxury bathroom- livingroom comfortable with a view over the lake. Been for a boat trip, bike ride, girls enjoyed the canoes. We've had a lovely time. Thankyou!

What can I say this was our first family holiday with our 3 year old son. It was perfect in every way. We are going to book a longer trip to this lovely place with more of our family. Shizuka and Todd were fantastic. 5 star recommend to anyone.

The accommodation is simply perfect and of a high quality. The pre and post booking communication meant we felt welcome before we even arrived. It felt as if our enjoyment was a high priority of the owners and they got pleasure from that. The location is quiet with plenty of wildlife to spot. The setting by the river was stunning and we spent hour after hour lost in thought sitting on one of the two balconies sipping tea. It is possible to not leave the marina and forget your own world exists. It is also a great base for days exploring the countryside and towns nearby.
As this is to guide you in making a choice of whether to book or not, I had better tell you the bad points. However, I can't. There weren't any. Book and enjoy. I am convinced you will not be disappointed

Extremely cosy & relaxing place here. All the features & equipment in the kitchen made the lodge very homely. After hours of boating & fishing, the children enjoyed chilling out on the sofa watching the DVD's. I will be recommending the lodge to family & friends, and soon hope to return.
